• The part that goes into the CD slot is made of good quality metal covered by rubber. Nothing will break off even under heat stress

• It is an excellent device for holding my phone and traveling with a GPS app. It holds my Galaxy and my wife's Iphone. 5 stars. It is all hard plastic. I have had a similar one for a few years, and it has not brokenat all. I now live in Las Vegas.
