yes. The product came with two magnetic inserts. I use one in my cell phone, my husband uses the other in his. Both of us have cases on our phones.

Yes it comes with two plates, sized large and small to suit your application. According to the instructions, the smaller plate if for sticking on the back of your device and larger plate is for use with devices in cases. I’m using iPhone Xr with a soft case and I simply oriented the plate in the back of the case, popped my phone back in and it is working amazingly well. I’m really looking forward to trying it with a larger device like an iPad!

I found that the sticker magnet fell off on the outside of my mobile holder. Instead, I put the magnet inside on the actual phone. It works okay, but may not allow your case to fit correctly.

Yes, I put the magnet on the inside of the case. It comes with a second magnet (for the outside of the case), that makes the hold stronger, but I don't use it.

The only catch here is, with the magnet on, your phone won't charge on a wireless charger. I've tried this with both the iPhone 11 and Galaxy S10E. So in my configuration, you'd need to take the case off your phone to charge it on a wireless charger.

Other than that, it's a great mount!

The short answer is probably. I have a thin protective case for my iPhone. A metal plate (provided with the unit) sits between the phone and the case. If you have an industrial, built-like-a-tank case, it could be an issue. Not for my slim case though.

Yes, magnet can be adhered to inside of the case or to the phone itself with the case on top of it and still hold to the mount.

Yes. Just stick the metal piece onto the back of your phone case. If your phone case is not too thick, it should still work. At one point, I had to revert back to my old phone which the metal piece was on the back of my phone (not the case) but the phone case was thin enough where the magnetic pull was still great!

it worked for me, i only used the small magnet and have a protective case over it - phone won't fall off from the mount's magnet, but the phone start rotating (from straight up position) from all the vibration and the disk that slides into the CD slot start wiggling out of the slot from the vibrations too, have to push the mount back all the way into the CD slot and straighten up my phone here and there

Yes. I would rather put the magnetic plate on my case than my phone. I have an otter case and already had a magnetic plate on it from a phone holder I use at home. Very easy to get on and off. I'm not sure it would work if you use a case with a pocket clip on it.

You can stick the magnet on the phone itself, or on the case. If you stick it on the phone and then cover it with the case, it tends to fall off; the magnets really need to be directly touching to hold well. I stick mine on the case, which means I need to buy a new magnetic sticker whenever I buy a new case.But then, I never take my phone out of the case.

I'm sure it would, I've had clear cases on 5 different iPhones and have used the magnetic holders with a less powerful magnet as this and never had a problem. This is one powerful magnet and the CD holder is better than any stick-on holders which I've had many. I have those vent holders for my iPhone but tends to fall off so have a real light wire to help hold on to the vent. The magnet is good but slides out of the vent when you hit a bump in the road. I use my CD magnet for my mini iPad.
