Yes, it goes back to the charger after completing the vacuum session.

Hello Barry, The Roomba i7 will automatically return to the home charging base whenever the job is complete. If the battery should become low mid cleaning cycle the i7 will return home to charge and then resume cleaning where it left off until the whole floor has been cleaned.
