I don't hear the blower motor either but it is there, the i7 has lower suction than some other brand vacuums but with the double rollers that is supposed to make up for it cleaning deep into carpet and I had the Shark IQ first until it broke down and it had more suction than the i7 but both clean very well. Watch Youtube videos on comparing the different Robots you will learn a lot, I did.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We had the same question with ours going from hardwood to carpet. there was no transition as no 2 stage motor. We called irobot direct and were told this model only has a one stage motor.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should hear the general sound of the motor, which is powering the suction and agitation. (There's not really a blowing sound.)
