• Yes if you want it to go where it is programed to go. I do not. We simply move it by hand to where we want it to clean. You some time have to physically place it back in the charger.

• Thank you for asking! While your robot doesn't need wifi to work and can be used manually, wifi is required to use the app and it's functions and features, and in this case, your hotspot wouldn't be adequate for that purpose.
