Yes, the JCT425 does provide the user with an HDMI connection, USB Type A ports for data transfer, one being for charging a phone; simply plug it into the MacBook Pro and it is ready for use. You would connect the JCT425 to the Mac via USB-C and then the HDMI connection out to the monitor. ** Feel free to contact us with our information on the packaging for Technical Support, device warranty registration or if you have any other questions and/or require any further assistance and someone will be glad to assist you. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should be able to do this without a separate docking station, correct. I currently do the same with my laptop, one USB C cable into my laptop and to the dock handles 4K display, and six other USB connections all at the same through the dock. No extra docks required.
