Does it have to go into the ear canal null

Hello Steve - Thank you for your question! The Jabra Talk 45 includes a couple of eargel options. While both are inserted into the ear, if you use the earhook, you can use the eargel that directs the audio into your ear canal. The eargel itself does not go in that far.
