  • QuestionHow long can it power a small space heater

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Thank you for your question! The Jackery Explorer 290 can power small electronics and low-wattage devices. However, it is not recommended for space heaters, as they typically require much more power than this unit can provide. Using a space heater may cause the unit to shut down or could be unsafe. • QuestionWith a 50” tv, how long could I plug in and watch on a fully charged generator?

    Asked by csett8.

    • Answer Dear customer, thank you for your interest in Jackery products. The Explorer 290, with a battery capacity of 290Wh and an output power of 200W, is capable of powering a 50" tv. To estimate the runtime, we use a straightforward calculation: multiply the battery capacity by 0.85 and then divide by the device's power consumption. Generally speaking, a 50" tv will use between 70 (LED TV) to 150 (LCD TV) watts. The Explorer 290 could theoretically seperately run a 50" tv for approximately 1.6-3.5 hours (calculated as 290×0.85÷150 to 290×0.85÷70). Please consider this an approximate figure, as actual runtime is influenced by the exact power requirements of your tv, additional connected devices, and more. Please check the power requirements of your device. It's crucial to ensure that the total power draw from all devices connected does not surpass the Explorer 290's 200W output limit to prevent system overload. For a precise calculation or further assistance, our customer service team is at your disposal (Customer Service: [email protected] / +1-888-502-2236 Weekdays 9AM to 5PM PST). • QuestionI have an enclosed gas fireplace that can keep our house above freezing even when we don't use our furnace. In the event of an electrical outage, I need a battery operated generator that will keep the fan going. What do you suggest?

    Asked by donk.

    • Answer I used the Jackery 290 for a 120, heater. It lasted 2 hours. To run your fireplace fan you would need a bigger one, and (depending on the length of time you dont have power) possibly 2 batteries on rotation. I would get at least the Jackery 1000 or 1500 for the purpose pf the fireplace fan.

  • QuestionHow long can this power a standard box fan? Same question for a space heater.

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Dear Customer, Thanks for reaching out to us regarding this question. This Explorer 290 can power a standrad box fan around 3 to 8.6 hours. Becasue the lowest running watts of a space heater is more than 200W(the continuous output watts of Explorer 290), this item can not power a space heater. The Explorer 880 and 1500 are recommended to you to run a space heater. Should you have other questions or concerns, feel free to contact our customer service. Thank you for your support. • Questioncan the Jackery Explorer 290 generator provide power to a full size refrigerator and if so for how long

    Asked by JAM.

    • Answer Hello, Thank you for your question. The Jackery Explorer 290 is a compact portable power station designed for small devices and low-power appliances. It is generally not suitable for powering a full-size refrigerator, because most full-size refrigerators require higher starting and running wattage than the Explorer 290 is rated to support. If you need to run a full-size refrigerator, a larger Jackery model would be more appropriate. For a personalized recommendation based on your fridge’s exact wattage, we recommend contacting Jackery Support directly: 📧 [email protected] 📞 +1-888-502-2236 (Mon–Fri, 9 AM – 5 PM PST)
