Mine was doing the same thing. I figured out you have to unplug everything (mostly just power) and wait about 5 minutes then have the sub on and plug it all back in.

I too was having problems getting the subwoofer to pair. Tried several times manually(10+) with no success. Then read this thread and saw that someone else had success after unplugging the power supply to both the sound bar and subwoofer. So I did the same. After lunch I came back and plugged the power back into the subwoofer first and then the sound bar. It did not automatically pair but I was able to manually pair it. It paired almost instantly. Hope this helps.

Just wasted 4 hours of my life for this . If the pairing does not work unplug both the soundbar and the subwoofer for couple of minutes then 1. make sure both devices are off 2. first turn on the subwoofer and press the pairing button then the light should start blinking quickly 2. turn on the soundbar with the remote then press dim display button for 5 seconds then press the plus and minus button of the bass. Should work if not repeat the steps above

If you run into a pairing issues it is important to unplug everything from the main unit (all HMDI and other connections except for power) and reset the bar by pressing and holding three buttons (volume up and down and source) until the device shows that is has reset. Unplug the power cable and unplug the subwoofer. Make sure the subwoofer is plugged in first, then plug in the bar. Nothing else. Press the pairing button on the subwoofer and then follow the instructions to manually pair. Everything must be unplugged in order to pair the bar and subwoofer without issue. Strange but work like a charm if you follow these directions closely.

I contacted JBL and they gave me the standard answer of unplug the modem, the router, close all devices, yada, yada, yada. I also took the soundbar and sub into another room far away from the entertainment center and the modem and router and still cannot pair the detachable speakers and subwoofer. I bought this system about 2 1/2 years ago and now it is unusable (unless I just want to hear everything coming from the primary soundbar.) JBL's response? It has just a 1 year warranty but they will give me 30% off a new one. Seriously, would anyone buy anything from JBL with that kind of answer? This cost $699 when I bought it and I would expect it to last a lot longer.

Fought with the open box JBL right out of the box to get it paired to the sub.

Make sure both have power .... hit the PAIR SUB button ON THE SUB - the white light will go from a slow white blink to a FAST white BLINK...
Then use the remote - hold down dim display 5 seconds and then tap base + then - 
Missing one step - click the sub pair button to make it fast bink!

Unscrew speaker, disconnect wire from circuit board. 
There’s a chip that comes loose from All the bass after awhile. 
All you have to do is push it back down.
Then follow pairing instructions. 
 * this chip is NOT soldered down, it’s just a chip with pins that comes loose.

Hi, had the same issue. Eventually updated the sw on the bar while the subwoofers connected to the bar.

Your JBL SB350 must be in stereo mode to sink the sound bar to the subwoofer. It is the second button from the right side of the sound bar and is next to the Bluetooth button. Once in this mode your devices should pair with no issue.

After trying all the instructions that are writing in this form I have to say it works!! At first it didn’t work for me and I change the batteries in the remote and then disconnected the sound bar and the bass. Connected first the bass and then the bar. Press paring in the sub until it blinked fast and then turn on the sound bar. In the remote control pressed on dim for 5 sec and then in the bass press on + and - once! In the sound bar it will displayed bass connected

Dear, I own a Philips Soundbar Fidelio b 97. I have only bought it second-hand for 2 months now and it always went very well until 3 days ago, the surround speakers no longer play and charge automatically (flickers red then just red, off again and so again constantly) as well as the subwoofer which I can no longer connect. I have already tried everything (reset everything, set factory settings and unplugged cables, Bluetooth turned off back on, Wi-Fi off and back on. When the soundbar is turned on, the subwoofer light comes on. I don't turn it on. Then I do it manually, press the pair button for 5 seconds, then it quickly flashes blue and I can't connect. The soundbar just turns on and works fine, but the surround sound speakers don't work. Can you help me with that please? Hopefully a software update problem.

I contacted JBL tech support and requested for firmware upgrade. They gave me the latest version firmware for my soundbar. I had installed it and the problem had gone away.

Amazingly those before me gave me the hint. Unplug power to both boxes. Sound bar and woofer! Plugged back in and they synced without my help. I did use remote to power off and back on because sound bar display was stuck on "hello"....powered off and back on and all was well. Resume movie please! Thanks all before me.

I had this same problem. It coincided with the upgrade of our internet to ATT Fiber. Discovered that the new ATT router runs a 5G signal that operates in the same frequency as the JBL sub. If you have a 5G router make sure it is not operating on the 80mhz bandwidth, as that is the same frequency the sub connects on. Went into advanced wifi set up options on the router and changed the bandwidth to 40mhz for the 5G signal. No further issues!!!

I have found the solution folks!!! If you have a new 5G wireless router in your house, this is creating the problem! We just got ATT fiber and our subwoofer stopped connecting. The default bandwidth for the router on the 5G channel is the same frequency that the subwoofer operates/connects on. If you go into your router advanced wifi options, change it from 80mhz bandwidth to 40mhz bandwidth and voila! No more issues. Hope this helps!

Ah man, so glad I came to this thread. I thought my woofer was dead. Like the others said, unplug both and keep them off for 10 minutes. Then plug in woofer, light should appear at back, press to blink fast. THEN plug in sound bar and switch on. Light at back of woofer will go permanently on.

I had this problem too.
I found that if i moved the sound bar away from my wifi hub then i was able to get it to work every time.
If i put the sound bar back near the wifi hub it failed.
To prove this i plugged in sound bar in another room away from the hub.
It works every time.
Try and keep a minimum of 1 metre between wifi hub and soundbar.

While the sub is quick flashing white hold the “dim” button on the remote for 5 seconds. Then press bass + and then bass - The sound bar will then indicate pairing. Once done it will show completed.

Finally! I had to reset the sound bar by holding power and volume - for 5 seconds, then it displayed reset on the sound bar. Then selected the link button on the subwoofer and it worked.

My iPhone found the JBL Bar 5.1 then the bar Bluetooth indicated it was pairing but no luck, unplugged the bar, tried again, no luck, then I unplugged the bar and the sub...
Restarted and bingo... all good.

Ours did the same thing. We tried multiple times to pair according to the instructions with no luck. We finally unplugged both the subwoofer and soundbar. Left them off for 10 minutes. Plugged the subwoofer in first, then the soundbar. After that, manual pairing was successful. Thanks for the help everyone!
