I have the same issue. I have a brand new Samsung tv and bought the jbl 500 sound bar. They exchanged the sound bar with another new one but same issue. Literally every 2 days I have to unplug and plug in the soundbar for it to get sound. HDMI Cables in right. Jbl troubleshoot and Samsung troubleshoot. Sound comes back but the next 2 days it doesn’t. No one seems to know how to help. Let me know if you get yours to work. I’m thinking on returning and getting a Samsung sound bar to see if the same thing will happen. This is very frustrating.

After 2 weeks, there was no sound today, but I did like you and unplugged my JBL 500 for a few mins, plugged it back in and now there's sound. I'll see how long this lasts. Maybe if I go with OPTICAL AUDIO CABLE this won't happen again.
