Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, you can listen to music from your iPhone via Airplay without connecting the soundbar to a TV. Please make sure that the soundbar is connected to your home network. For reference, please refer to the Owner's Manual pg. 11, "5.3 Connection with your home network". Then, go to pg. 17, "7.7 Play through AirPlay" to set up the soundbar with AirPlay.
