• No, this will not pass 4K signal through hdmi. They are not the 2.2 standard. However, if you use the optical cable to feed sound to the system you don't have to worry.

• Not really sure... but runs from optical or HDMI Cable.. but 4k being picture quality.. which nothing is really televised in 4k yet. Im sure would produce sound.
