• Nope. The self-contained battery within the speaker is for the speaker alone. At least mine is. Maybe I'm special... ;-)

• It does not use your cell phone battery, it runs off the internal speaker battery

• It has its own internal battery and so it does not use the phone's battery to power the speakers. Also you can charge the speaker separately or together with the phone.
