This is a gas cooktop. No indicator lights like in some induction smooth cooktops. This is also not like the original Jenn-Air modular setup. I have a griddle and use it often but place it on top of the rack over two burners and works perfectly. This is probably my favorite down draft cooktop and I have had 3 different models and manufacturers in the past. If you like cooking with gas and easy to clean... this would be a great choice
