• You can plug in the USB port to charge any device. But an ipad will not fit on the dock port.

• An ipod wont fit on the dock. But it has ability to plug in USB for charging devices.

• It can charge any USB devices. It will work with sound for the iPad using an AUX cable or Bluetooth.

• It can charge any USB device but appears to be slower to get fully charged. I use mine for my iPhone when I go to sleep. By the time I wake up, my iPhone is fully charged. I never tried on my iPad but I do not see why not.
