No you do not want to have them submerged in water but you can sweat all over them and wipe them off and they work fine

No, these are not waterproof. With and IP rating of 66 these earbuds are dust and sweat resistant. They will hold up against dripping sweat but aren't to be used while swimming. -JLab Audio
