This is a year old but I know the answer now. The axle going through the wheel inside has broken off the gear it is supposed to turn going into the electronics. If it is out of warranty, you can remove the screw under the label on the bottom and open the mouse. You will see the axle I am referring to. A drop of super glue to secure the axle to the gear, wait an hour or two, reassemble, and you will be back in business. Don't do this if you have warranty. If it is within the 1 year warranty or if you have the Best Buy warranty, contact Best Buy or the manufacturer.
