Yes. I use it with my GH4 along with lens and it doesn't move. A great choice for DSLR and mirrorless cameras.

It holds my Canon - EOS Rebel T7i DSLR Camera with the lense, so I think it can definitely hold the camcorder.

I would not use this for a camcorder. It is hard to get the adjustments correct to move smoothly. It's more for cameras
