Yes you can. The car controls the amount of amps it pulls from the charger. For example, if your car only can take 16 amps and you have a charger that can provide 48amps, your car will only demand 16amps from the charger. You can even use the app to change the amount of amp that the charger puts out. I suggest that you watch this YouTube video about this charger. https://youtu.be/taX9odl2hYM I have one and I have no issues with the actual charger. The app is a little weird but it’s not a deal breaker.

Typically, you would set the current to match the maximum allowed for the circuit you are plugged or hardwired into… the charger will ‘advertise’ that limit to the car, and the car will only draw that amount of current. The car controls the current draw based on the current the charger is allowed to deliver. BTW this is great charger IMO. I bought this one specifically because it is compatible with my electricity supplier… it communicates via the internet with my electricity supplier, and I get time-of-use rates which makes overnight charging super cheap.
