We had the Geek Squad install this head unit along with a third party back up camera. What I did noticed, was that not only did our third party backup camera had its own camera grid lines, the head unit had its internal ones two, where we had to go into the configurations in the head unit to choose which one to default to and the other to disable. So the capability to connect to third party is available. It is more of whether or not the connection of the 17 Ridgeline backup camera can be interfaced, which I am not an installer to answer correctly. But I would call best buy and the installer guys to be 100% sure.
