Hey Lugnutz, don't know anything about your car but you know who does? Best Buy, that's who. They did n excellent job putting in a new stereo in my '12 Nissan Frontier about a month ago and cheaper than anyone else in town.

However, I used their specified wiring harness but it still bypassed the steering wheel controls for this device. That leads me to think that if you put this JVC unit in your Bose equipped Miata that you will lose the functionality that you get from the Bose amplifier to the speakers as well as the six disc changer as it can only play one disc at a time. You will likely need a dashboard installation kit and car specific after market stereo wiring harness to install it so add the cost of that to your stereo unit as well as installation costs if it is not included in the stereo price. Ultimately I think that you need to speak with an installer, get the bottom line price for doing everything and to see what will happen when you replace your Bose unit as I am not an expert.
