“Why does "Free Installation" cost $100? When I try to buy this, an additional $99.99 gets added for "Steering Wheel Control Interface. Do I need this? I'd prefer to just use the controls on the dashboard as I've always done.”

The steering wheel control package is an optional package IF you want to still control the stereo from your steering wheel. If you don't then don't get the package and you'll just use the controls on the stereo face.
