• the JVC R450 can take video in 1080P, thus each frame is HD quality picture, and you can extract frames as pictures our of a taken video.

• Hi, Thanks for asking. You choose either video mode or still picture mode through the touch screen, so it is not possible to do still pictures at the same time as you are doing video.
