yes, the rechargeable battery is on the cord near the ear bud.

What is see is what you get. There isn't another part on the wire connecting the left to right ear piece to weigh down the headphones.

Nothing is on the cord, the microphone is on the neck part. I've noticed that I will block the mic if I'm looking straight down to my left. I am also 6' 2" 270lbs. so neck fat may be a factor. The battery charger port is under a shield on the inside left part of the over the neck headphones. One picture you can see the mic on top the other picture you can see the charging port on the inside opened. I tried to get both to be able to show you the sliders on each side.

Nope just the chord, not like the other Bluetooth earbuds that have that plastic strip on or as the wire. That's one of the reasons I love these earbuds. Sound is good battery life is about 8-9 hours of straight use, and fully charged in about an hour. I like that when I connect it to my iPhone, my iPhone shows the battery life of the earbuds.
