“My son has one of these radios and the usb port doesn't charge his android phone. It does for a second or two, then it stops. It keeps switching from charging to not charging which drains the battery. Does anyone know what the issue might be?”

This could be an issue with the charging USB cable. Have you tried another USB Cable. Have you tired another phone to this radio to charge correctly?
