• It will plug into a U.K. wall outlet and let you plug your present USB adapter into it. Your USB adapter should have a faint marking showing it will handle 120/240 volt and 50/60 hertz. It would also handle hair dryer etc that is marked 120/240 or which has a switch option for 240.

• The adapter fits the UK socket and accepts US style phone chargers that can work with 220 volts ( most do).
