“once the tv is attached to the wall plate, can you slide the tv left to right along the wall plate? or is it fixed to just one spot along the wall plate?”

There is a screw that is supposed to secure it but even after I tightened it the TV slid. If that's what you want to be able to do you will be happy. I kind of wanted it secure in the middle for my purposes.
