“Can you activate the backup camera by pressing the camera button on the unit? Mine is not displaying anything when I’m pressing that however the backup camera works automatically when the car is in reverse The Best Buy tech didn’t think it would work.”

Depends on how it's wired. If it's powered from the Backup light circuit, the camera will only come on when you're in reverse. If you wire it to a constant source of 12V power (red wire I believe) it will come on whenever you turn it on, but will not come on automatically when you shift into reverse. Not sure I would try to wire it both ways simultaneously unless you could put a resistor to prevent backfeeding current into the reverse light trigger wire which would see the camera on all the time with no way to shut it off .
