“Does Sirius/XM "ready" mean that if you have have a subscription to Sirius that is all you need or is there another accessory you need to buy before you can get Sirius programming?”

No. the DDX6706S has the connector port in the the back on the unit but you'll need to purchase the Sirius receiver. You will also need to purchase an adapter if you plan to use the existing Sirius satellite antenna.

You may be able to connect to an existing SiriusXM antenna but you might have to modify the antenna connector. You can get the receiver from Best Buy or from Siriusxm. These new receivers use a different connector between the radio and the satellite units than the factory, at least for GM.
