A:Answer I ended up buying and hdmi extension and routed it to a visible area off my dashboard. Best buy had a hdmi/usb dash pigtail that i purchase from them as part of my install. You might stop by the shop in advance to inquire about it as in my case they had to ship me one and it came in two days just prior to rhe install date. As far as using the hdmi port the instructions give really good examples on how to use with different devices. Depending on your device it has different examples. Iphone is what i use and it would mirror the iphone screen which i thought i would use frequently. Instead i ise apple carplay with this deck and all i did was use the usb to my lightening cord to the iphone and walah. I also setup it up for bluetooth for the phone if not connect via the lightening cord. I love using carplay as it gives hands free navigation, phone, text messaging and my favorite was to add on the iphone time in radio which i use daily to here my sports station. My friend loved it so much while driving with me that he ordeeed one as well for his truck. Fyi. I would buy this again and again for future vehicles.
