If you want more power than offered from that, then you can definitely add an external amplifier that fits the rms capabilities your speakers are designed to handle. Remember that it is always best to get a little more power than required because you can always turn it down , but if you get too little power and turn it all the way up you will then have distortion, and sacrifice sound quality.
