Yes it does play MP3 songs and MP3 Cds. If you play MP3 Cd's that you make on a Disc Burner do this. When you are asked for Burn Speed use the Lowest speed at 2X and no higher than 4X. The playback difference is better than 8X and higher speeds. The 8X speed Disc will skip if you play it multiple times over long periods of play. This Deck is very good at reproducing MP3 songs. It is a very nice player for the money.
