No, it shouldn’t stay on. My first guess is that you have (typically a blue wire) the amp power wired to an always on 12v source, it should be wired to only have power when the key is on. The main power (big red wire) should be the only one that has voltage at all times.

Please try again later.Instead of asking questions, that any bad answer could fry your amp, radio/reciever, and/or your car; causing a short, why don't you simply read the instructions (don't say you don't have them because you're posting which means you can get them online), go to the amps website, or watch videos how to install amps!? Nowadays people can have information instantaneous in their hands (smartphones?) yet rely on others. And how do you know if these answers will be right? And how long will you wait?
