I am getting mine installed on January 19th. The installer explained to me that I can have it both ways. It will come on when I shift to reverse and I can also turn on and leave on from Camera button on the Kenwood Head unit. It may depend on your head unit. It will come in handy if the back of the SUV is full. That way it can be the rear view mirror.

Please try again later.absolutely! very easy , cables go straight to the front of the vehicle and when you connect the power lead one goes to ground and the other one to power insert a basic switch in line and you are all set makes a great rear view mirror easily can see 3 lanes if mounted correctly
