Best Buy customer service needs some improvement if they are passing customer questions onto another customer that bought the same unit. Best Buy poor service in car stereo installation has gone down as the worst in history, but I digress. I made the research to DIY this stereo into my car, (and to my surprise) I was successful! it's a complicated answer that Best Bud won't research for you. You will most likely need an I-DATALINK MAESTRO RR or RR2 INTERFACE for starters. You'll also need an HR (that's harness ready) connector, and a CH adapter, that's the adapter to fit the harness ready connector to fit onto the Kenwood Unit. If you don't have an additional amplifier, and if its all stock system, then you're GOLDEN. This is a long complicated answer to your question, so start with researching which interface works best for your vehicle. I went with the RR2 because the interface is small and more tech ready for today's end users. I've attached photos of the components I use for the DMX 4017S unit. I additionally bought hardware for the cosmetic finish in the vehicle (pic 4). I wish you the best on your search for your perfect stereo, and I hope this helps.
