“Will this speaker work on a standard radio ,or does it need a large unit to have to hear volum”

Yeah you need a few "units" one would be a box to mount this earth moving bass shaking bazooka tube of yesteryear. the second "unit" would be an amplifier try and find yourself something quality such as a yard sale find or craigslist. its not going to take much to get your saab pounding like a tin can.
