“Is an amp needed for this sub or can it be installed and sound good without an amp?”

• Technically an amp is not required however you will not leverage the speaker mid and low end potential. Best thing to do is use the subwoffer out of the head unit to an amp as a mid to low frequency channel.

• I would advise having a amp it can handle moderate power or a small amp
