Does anyone know the approximate number of refills of the reservoir before the water filter needs to be replaced? I.E., should I buy the water filters when I buy the coffee maker? Or wait until something tells me I need to change it? And, is there a warning to change it?

Buy ahead of time and replace per the manufacturers recommendations unless you're using RO water.
