Each cup and box has a best by date printed on it which is the manufactures recommendation. If you search Google you will find plenty of people saying they have kept cups on the shelf for years before drinking and found no difference in quality vs new cups. Typically you'll find best by dates for coffee cups to be 3-8 Months and cocoa to be 6-12 Months according to various sources.
