When you say channels, I assume you mean how many speakers will this accommodate? I have a 2013 Ford Escape and it has 5 speakers. One in the dash, 2 in the front doors and 2 in the rear doors. I didn't install this amp (I had my local BestBuy install it) and I bought this to "enhance" the existing factory stereo system, which it DEFINITELY DOES. I was concerned when I was considering buying it, that it would blow out my existing factory speakers (I wasn't planning on going nuts and buying new speakers) but the tech at BestBuy assured me that would not happen. I have had this amp in my car since August and so far it has worked great. It gave me the extra power that I was looking for, without having to spend a lot of money.
