“Will I need to buy an amp also to push them or will do they sound good by themselves? Thes will replace the factory speakers in my 2001 BMW 740il”

An amp is not required but recommended. Installing these with no amp will get you more clear and articulate sound and you will hear the difference in quality. However, no amp may also cause you to loose some volume and your bass may not sound as full. Depending on your listening style, this may not matter to you. Feeding them 100 per speaker makes a night and day difference
