Q: QuestionI noticed by looking at videos and photos of this microwave installed that the front protrudes out about 6 inches from the cabinets, like a fan would. Does it have to extend out that far or can it be more flush with the cabinets, enough to open the door?

• A:Answer The ventilation outlet is rectangular in shape and requires an adapter to fit the round vent pipe that exhausts to the outside. These are available at most big box hardware stores. If you have an existing microwave, that adapter is probably already in place. Just note that you have to configure the exhaust system on the microwave to vent through the top vent. Instructions on how to do that are in the installation packet.

• A:Answer The KitchenAid microwave we have is slightly over 29 3/4 wide, 18 deep, and 10 1/4 tall. It works great and is very nice. Be sure to mount it low enough to see inside it. That is important when taking out dishes with hot liquids. It has lots of space inside and is big enough for a 9 x 11 large pan. We have mounted ours under a cabinet - not above a stove. The fan works and is really strong! It is made for over the stove mount.

Q: QuestionHow bright is the LED light under the microwave that lights up the range? And does it use a standard bulb? I have another brand/model like this but the light bulb is tiny and appears to be mounted to a circuit board. Thinking about exchanging it for this.
