Hello, this model is not designed to be a countertop Microwave. We do have specific models that are strictly countertop models that would be better for that option. We hope this helps.

I guess it could. But if I were you, I'd buy a convection microwave for countertop, because it would be cheaper than the over-the-range one. It would save your counter space too.
