• No, I use either the rack or the carousel with the round rack depending on the size of the container I'm using.

• The carousel stays in place but there is a chrome rack that sits on the carousel that you use. There's also a larger rack that can go above that so you can cook 2 or more things at once. For the price it's a great buy.... love it!
