• A:Answer Hi Mars, Before descaling, always make sure the brew basket contains no coffee grounds, gold tone filter or any cone paper filters. If using vinegar, fill the Water Tank with a solution consisting of 6 cup vinegar and 6 cup cool water. If using a descaling agent, fill the Water Tank with descaling agent and cool water. Follow the directions on the package for the recommended ratios of descaling Vinegar agent and cool water to use. When the “Clean” indicator begins to flash on the display, run a clean cycle: Press the CLEAN button. The “Clean” indicator will stop flashing. Then press the BREW button to begin the Clean cycle. When the Clean cycle is complete (approximately30 minutes), 3 beeps will sound, and the “Clean” indicator will turn off. Run at least 2 fresh, cool water-only cycles after the Clean cycle is complete
