Questionthe finish bottom of the dishwasher door panel seems to be peeling up as if a piece of plastic wrap but I think it is the actual finish. what should i do?

- Answer I am having the same problem. I think we should start a Class Action lawsuit against KitchenAid. It is clearly a manufacturing issue and they are hoping we will go away. Anyone else interested in filing a suit against KitchenAid as a Class?

QuestionDoes the black area on the front of the dishwasher display a light or any numbers while the dishwasher is in use?

- Answer It displays dashes - - - - - - which disappear one by one as time elapses on the cycle. When there are no dashes left it displays the word clean. It’s very subtle.

- Answer Yes. i called Kitchenaid with the same question. They found in the manual that the size will work by lowering the bottom to the floor without the 4 little pillars and if needed, pare down the insulation above. My unit was installed at 34.5 inches and fits and looks fine.

QuestionPlease show how the top should be loaded with forks, spoons and knives. The grooves do not hold the utensils in place.

- Answer I don't use it for silverware - I use it for silicone spatulas, the flat beaters of a stand mixer, even the sink mat (which cleaned up beautifully). I think larger items would do better there that smaller utensils.

- Answer Yes, the 3rd rack is removable. The middle rack can be adjusted up or down to accommodate taller objects very easily.

- Answer The dish washer is very quite. Sometime you forget it is running in the background. If you stand next to it you will hear the water drain into sink (very little sound). I'm happy with this model.

QuestionThe inside was damp, with condensation, when I unloaded the dishes yesterday. It is still wet inside the dishwasher when I opened the door today. I did use the rinse aid and also pressed the heat button before washing. Why is this? It is brand new.

- Answer We just had our dishwasher installed about two weeks ago - the same occurred with ours after the first two washings, but diminished over the course of two to three washings.I think the condensation is because it's still new and probably the rinse aid hasn't full taken effect. It's imperative that you add rinse aid and use pods, instead of the conventional dishwasher powder or liquid. Our dishwasher is working perfectly now and no complaints whatsoever.

- Answer I only use liquid dishwasher detergent based on the recommendation of a appliance repairman. No problems using liquid with this appliance.

- Answer I have the same setup. You open the door and select the program. Press start and close the door. It displays the current status on the front.

QuestionWe use ours and the detergent tray opens but the detergent just slides down the door. Same with the cascade pods. It’s like it’s not getting enough water or something. Dishes still dirty. Do you have a solution?

- Answer Make sure the detergent container is totally dry before putting a pod into it. If it's not dry the outer clear material of the pod will partially dissolve and stick to the detergent container wall, and will not drop to the base of the tub as it's supposed to do.

QuestionIs there a way to turn off the drying cycle and just let dishes air dry? I have read the manual and there does not appear to be a way unless you have the Extended Pro Dry option (which I don't). Thanks.

- Answer After you set the cycle, press the extended dry button twice & it will turn off the heat cycle.

- Answer Hello Nana! Yes, your dishwasher is designed to use rinse aid for good drying performance. Without rinse aid, your dishes and dishwasher interior will have excessive moisture. The Heat Dry option will not perform as well without rinse aid. For most water conditions, the factory setting will give good results. However, if you are experiencing poor drying performance, you may want to try a higher setting. Turn the arrow adjuster inside the dispenser to change rinse aid setting.

QuestionDoes the door lock when in operation to prevent small children from opening the door while it's running?

- Answer No, there is no way to lock the door. It stops running when the door is opened. After opening the door, you have to click on resume to get it to restart and finish the cycle. I do like this dishwasher. It is very quiet when running. Hope this helps.
