Yes, I barely hear it running. I wasn't quite sure what the difference in decibels would really translate too, but the Bosch was very noisy from the first time I ran it. I wondered if there was something wrong with that unit because it was rated so high for noise. The Kitchen Aid is so quiet you have to look at the indicator light to see if it's still going. Please try again later.There is a relatively high-pitched noise that it makes for much of the wash cycle which is more noticeable than a previous KitchenAid that I had (which was 43 dB). I prefer the low-pitched, technically slightly louder older dishwasher as this one is more noticeable throughout my house
