QuestionI recently purchased this dishwasher ( hasn't been delivered yet) and I was told it did not come with a top rack for utensils. As I read the reviews, many are stating how much they love the third top rack? Can you explain?

- Answer Also disappointed by the top rack, its basically useless for utensils, my old one I could slide them sideways & they’d be clean on both sides. This one they lay flat & only 1 side seems to get clean

QuestionWhat does "self-filtration/ no self-filtation" mean? I don't want to have to clean the filter? Do any of your models have "hard item disposal"?

- Answer This KitchenAid® Dishwasher has a filter that requires no routine maintenance. Unfortunately, we do not offer any Dishwashers at this time with a disposal option.

Questionnow I know where to fill the rinse aid........please don't tell me I need to fill it each time I run the dishwasher?? Normally filling the rinse aid would last more than 1 wash. thanks

- Answer pal, you should not have to fill the rinse aid every time you run a cycle. This KitchenAid® Dishwasher will show you when you need add more rinse aid. Please refer to page 8 of the use and care manual for more information. We hope this helps!

QuestionDoes this dishwasher have an end of cycle indicator telling you when they are clean? Does it also have a time left indicator telling how much time is left before the cycle is finished?

- Answer The indicator light in front is blue when washing, it turns white when dishes are finished. There is a countdown timer on the top (blue numbers) that shows how much time is left. Also, the word "CLEAN" in white lettering appears on the top when dishes are finished.

QuestionA clip fell to bottom not sure where it goes. The manual is not helpful. Also second row collapsable row to the left won't click in place and just falls down. How do I get it to remain in place?

QuestionMy dishwasher is not drying the dishes any longer, water is left on top of cups and the moisture stays inside. Force air doesn’t seem to work or is there something I’m not setting properly?

- Answer I would make sure you’re turning the Heated Dry or Pro Dry on. If that doesn’t work I’d call KitchenAid.

QuestionI purchased this dishwasher as an "open box" item. There is no blanket or padding on the outside of the unit, just plastic and metal. Should this dishwasher have a blanket or padding for sound insulation?

- Answer Yes, it should have padding. It comes with a very thick insulation. This is why the dishwasher is so quiet.

- Answer You need to use the Normal cycle which turns on power dry to get a minimal dry...most dishes should be dry if there is no puddles in some dishes..

- Answer yes if this is the $1200 one . I have this same model , and it does have the 3rd shelf ! i love that shelf great for spatulas and my big knives! anything somewhat flat . There is a less expensive model that looks exactly like it from the outside , its $850, but that one doesn't have the 3rd shelf ( KDTE204GPS) or many other features . the upgrade is WELL WORTH IT !!!
