• I have had two of this model and both have started to rust within a year.

• Leave the door ajar / open at night to allow it to COMPLETELY dry out. And I have had Zero Issues in this area.

• I have only had the dishwasher a few weeks, so I haven't experienced this. But I always dry my dishwasher off when I am finished using it. I would think keeping the door clean and dry would prevent this problem.
