You only lose your temperature and energy saver settings that you've made; the unit powers up after an outage in the same condition as when you first plugged it in.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a complete failure. Yes if power goes out the entire unit will stop working until manually reset. In vacation mode or not. Huge design flaw and failure to mention this in the manual. This is why I will never buy another Kitchenaid appliance ever again. First time this happened we went away for a week to come back to a fidge and a freezer full of rotten food. Second time we went away I put the fidge in vacation mode to ensure this didn't happen again. But it did, same result. The control panel flashing PO and the fidge and freezer full of rotten food. No where does the manual explain this. No one at Kitchenaid could explain this either. Is this the correct functioning of the refridgerator, a design flaw, or a failure in the unit itsself. They would only send a technition at my cost, no ever knowing if the unit was failing or not. Useless-KitchenUnaid
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had to turn off the power to my kitchen area in order to install a new outlet with usb ports - not a long time. When I turned the power back on via the breaker for this area, the refrigerator reset itself and I didn't have to reset anything at all - not sure if this is time dependent or not. I didn't have the power off for more than 15 - 20 minutes, and was really glad I didn't have to figure it out. Hopefully KitchenAid can respond directly to the concern - a good question.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a terrible appliance ! We thought we bought a high end refrigerator and it is junk !! Every time there is a power outage it shuts off and doesn’t come back on , even with a whole house generator . We have lost all of the food in the fridge & freezer several times due to being out of town we the power went out . We have three times now paid for service calls and each time they say it’s fixed and it’s not! The company refuses to acknowledge that there is a problem & keep telling us to call in a repair service to look at it . They even claim that they have never had a complaint about this fridge.I will never buy a KitchenAid appliance again !
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Think about when you first plugged the unit into your wall outlet. The same thing is probably going to happen.
